Seasonal Volunteer Activities

(Informal opportunities if you’re already in the area)

 

We don’t have an official volunteer program yet, and we can’t offer accommodation for the moment.
But if you’re nearby and want to experience the real work behind a tropical farm on the Costa Tropical, here’s what you can help with throughout the year

 


JANUARY – FEBRUARY

  • Light pruning on avocado trees

  • Clearing paths and terraces after winter rain

  • Soil preparation and planting-bed improvement

  • Propagating aromatic herbs in the nursery


MARCH – APRIL

  • Transplanting young seedlings

  • Adjusting and installing irrigation lines

  • Early care for cherimoya and pitaya plants

  • Coffee plant maintenance and shade management


MAY

  • First coffee harvest of the year (selective picking, washing, drying)

  • Mango flowering support and tree training

  • Weed control and mulching

  • Setting up summer protection zones


JUNE – JULY – AUGUST – SEPTEMBER

Pitaya season – Night pollination

  • Night pollination of pitayas

  • Pitaya, papaya and guava harvest

  • Intensive irrigation checks and summer maintenance

  • Mango early varieties harvest (July)

  • Clearing dry vegetation and monitoring heat stress


OCTOBER

  • Soil recovery after summer

  • Planting aromatic herbs and new seedlings

  • Light pruning on selected crops

  • Preparing areas for the autumn cycle


NOVEMBER – DECEMBER

  • Main coffee harvest of the year (picking, washing, drying and sorting)

  • General finca maintenance before the new season

  • Replanting and nursery work

  • Harvest of late-season fruits
